Tree & Shrub Care
Each season your lawn and landscape grows and changes.
All of the trees and shrubs on your property represent a valuable
and growing investment that adds both value and enjoyment to your
home. But each new season brings insect, disease and weather
problems that can damage or even destroy the beauty and health
of your landscape.
Southern Spray has the experience you can trust to carefully
inspect and manage the health of your landscape trees and shrubs.
Through each season of the years, we monitor and treat insect
and disease activity on all plants covered by our program.
Our program also provides precisely formulated fertilization for
improved plant growth, bloom potential and general vigor.
The Southern Spray Schedule of Tree & Shrub Care
Early Spring Deep Root Fertilization
We inject the root system of each plant 5" to 7" with
a quality balanced fertilizer to promote a strong root system
and optimum plant health
Spring
Insect and disease controls are selectively applied to protect
against pathogens that occur at leaf break.
Late Spring/Early Summer
Insect and disease controls are again applied for protection
against invading early summer pests.
Summer
A careful inspection and selective spray for mites, bagworms
and lacebugs
Early Fall
This time of year brings cooler temperatures and rain. Our technician
will monitor and spray to help protect against powdery mildew
and spruce mites which are highly active at this time.
Fall Deep Root Fertilization
A quality balanced fertilizer is again injected into your plants
root system to provide nutrients and help minimize winter injury.
Optional Services
Azalea Care
Azaleas in Middle Tennessee need special attention. In the period
of time from bloom drop through June, azaleas should be pruned
and fertilized. Your technician will perform this service for
you to insure your azaleas receive the best possible care.
Dormant Oil
In mid to late winter your technician will apply a dormant oil
spray for plants prone to mites and scale. This oil will control
insects and the eggs they lay. (This may be included as a scheduled
visit at time of inspection.)
Bed Weed Control
In early spring and again in the fall we will apply a granular
pre-emergent to your landscape beds to help control most weeds
in your planting beds. (Complete removal before application is
necessary for this to be effective.)
